The lovely Lot region

This is my studio, where all the courses are run-plenty of space and light.

It's tempting to stare out of the French doors and never do any work, especially when the sun is shining,as it has this summer without fail.Mustn't complain!
The beautiful chateau at Monbazillac-wine tasting available.

Peace, perfect peace, around my studio and home.
There are many lovely Bastide villages near us and some of them will be visited on the trip we make in the middle of the week courses.

  • The tuition fee is £220 or 245 Euros.
  • This covers 5 days teaching, lunches and coffee etc during those days,a welcome meal  on the Sunday so that you can get to know the other students and a trip out in the middle of the course.Amazing value!
    • We collect from Bergerac airport on the Sunday before your course  and from your accomodation within reason.Of course,we will return you to the airport.
IT DOES NOT COVER

  • Flights
  • Accomodation-we can give details of a local hotel which other students have used and a local camp site.
  • Insurance cover, which you are advised to take out .
A DEPOSIT OF 50% is required on booking and the balance of the fee 6 weeks before the course date.

re-cycle and felt

This course will be all about taking fabric which has had a long life and giving it a new lease of life, by adding it to fine layers of pre-felt,to create beautiful garments or interior items, depending upon your choice. The yardage you create can be sewn together, or felted at the seams-your choice. There will be no giant seamless garments to work at  furiously to shrink down to the right size. You could even bring a favourite pattern with you and may have time to create rust dyed silk to add to the equation. You may also choose to make a throw and handstitch on it-the sky is the limit, but you will need a collection of lightweight charity shop scarves to re-cycle.

Re-cycled old lace ,frills and furbelows on the right,

Yardage in the making, before the final processes in the spin dryer-lazy woman's feltmaking!
More about costs shortly.

The pure white course

I have always been fascinated by the tradition behind white fabric in different cultures and the huge range of whites available in fabric.Texture becomes the most important thing when colour is eliminated and using different fabrics on a felt surface creates beautiful variations in texture. This is what I will be teaching in the pure white course and the fabrics we create will be used for garments, throws and interior items-the sky is the limit. This will be a course for all ,from beginners to the more experienced and there will only be 5 places, so everyone will have individual attention.
